Hiked faster than we thought this morning but quit early in the afternoon because we knew there was a storm coming. Got in about 11 miles. And saw another rattlesnake!
Interesting cast of characters. Shelter is packed. In one of the pictures you can see all the packs haning from a beam. We got the last two slots in the shelter and dad is hanging his hammock from the beams.
This was written inside the privy. Haha
sounds like you've had a good week, Mary! I'm really impressed with your reaction to the rattlesnakes -- that would have done it for me -- I'm afraid I would not have been able to take another step, maybe in either direction! (A helicopter might have been needed...)
ReplyDeleteThought this scripture would be appropriate -- It's from Luke 10:19, and this is from the New Living Translation: Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you.
That is pretty awesome! peace...Deb
Yay! Mary's back! :) I've missed the blog

Mary, just read these posts to Grandma and Mr. Schermerhorn and they were so excited to hear about everything. They love the photos just as I did.
ReplyDeleteIt was so very, very nice talking to you all--a great way to end Mother's Day! You three sound like you are having a wonderful time
We got to visit with your Mom, Katie and gma over the wkend. It was fun hearing all that was going on with you 3. Hope it didn't get in the 20's last night as your Mom was saying. So glad things are going well for everyone. I'm sure it will be tough saying goodbye to your Dad tomorrow, but I know you and Will are going to be just fine together! Love reading the blog again, really missed all the adventures. Watch out for those snakes!!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you're on your adventure again. I've missed reading your blog. Danny says he saw you at church while you were home. And we really didn't need to know about the privy! LOL
